Completed in 1993, HCC is the only dedicated cancer facility at MUSC. Our expansion was completed in 2007. The entire facility is 202,139 gross square feet and houses multidisciplinary clinics, chemotherapy infusion suites, research laboratories, and much more.

Hollings has multidisciplinary clinics that involve surgeons, medical oncologists, radiation therapists, radiologists, pathologists, psychologists and many other specialists seeing patients simultaneously under one roof. Multidisciplinary care is provided in disease specific clinics such as thoracic, breast, head & neck, genitourinary, gastrointestinal, hematologic, neuro, and pediatric cancers.

The Hollings Mobile Health Unit provides cancer education and screening for breast, prostate, cervical, head and neck, and skin cancers throughout twelve counties of the Lowcountry. To address the significant rate of cancer disparities in South Carolina, services are targeted to rural, poor, uninsured, and African American and Hispanic populations.

Hollings has launched a Patient Navigation program to assist underserved women diagnosed with breast cancer as they “navigate” the complex health care system by staff who are culturally representative of the patients they serve. The program includes assistance for underserved women in securing financial and other resources for diagnosis and treatment.

Hollings has established a Cancer Disparities Advisory Board to assist the Hollings team in planning strategies to eliminate disparities.

The Looking Glass, housed at Hollings, is the only one-stop-shop in the Low Country for cancer patients, providing a wide range of mastectomy products with fittings by certified personnel, wigs, turbans, surgical stockings, educational videos and books and other essential resources for cancer patients. This shop caters to the physical, medical and emotional needs of cancer patients.
