In her role at Hollings, Dr. Ford oversees the effort to address our state’s critical cancer disparities through community outreach, education, and population-based research. As a behavioral scientist with experience in conducting recruitment and retention studies in diverse populations of older adults, her recently published manuscripts are related to factors affecting cancer screening behavior among older African Americans and Caucasians, recruiting/retaining older African American men in cancer screening trials, and factors affecting medication adherence among African Americans and Caucasians. >> More on Marvella E.
