David T. Marshall, MD

Dr. Marshall is a board certified Radiation Oncologist, specializing in Genitourinary and Gastrointestinal cancers. He has published widely in GU and GI cancers and has provided innovative treatment options to patients in South Carolina, including Y-90 microsphere therapy for liver cancers, stereotactic radiosurgery for liver tumors, and seed implants for prostate cancer using custom-built links of seeds with real-time interactive dosimetry in the operating room. He has been an active collaborator with other researchers and clinicians in developing and completing clinical trials in order to improve outcomes for cancer patients. His specific research interests include the role of Vitamin D in cancer disparities as well as development of novel approaches to improving accuracy of radiotherapy using new immobilization and image-guided techniques. Dr. Marshall is the director of the Radiation Oncology Resident Training Program at MUSC, and enjoys working with residents to both improve the care of his patients and educate future radiation oncologists. Dr. Marshall is on the GI, Radiation Oncology, GU, and Imaging committees of the Southwest Oncology Group, American Board of Radiology Initial Certification Advisory committee, and the Government Relations and Education committees of the American Society for Radiation Oncology.
