Dr. Reed is a Professor of Surgery and holds the Alice Ruth Reeves Folk Chair in Clinical Oncology. She has served in a leadership role since the cancer center’s inception. In her role, she works closely with the hospital and ambulatory care administrations to ensure the delivery of first-rate care as well as building clinical alliances throughout the state.

Dr. Reed is a nationally-recognized thoracic oncology surgeon, having served as the first woman chair of the American Board of Thoracic Surgery. She also is Chief, Section of General Thoracic Surgery at MUSC. Her research interests include lung cancer and esophageal cancer.
