6th Annual Head and Neck Multidisciplinary Research Workshop
The MUSC Head and Neck Tumor Program hosted a half day workshop on April 24, 2008 and. This year's guest lecturer was Jeffrey Myers, MD, PhD from the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. His talk was entitled, "Translational Research in Squamous Cell Carcinoma of the Oral Tongue."

2nd Annual Ovarian Cancer Research Symposium
The MUSC's Hollings Cancer Center presented a full day symposium on Friday, May 2, 2008.  Nationally recognized experts and MUSC experts presented. Information on the 2009 Symposium will be posted in the fall.

8th Annual Scientific Research Retreat
The Holllings Cancer Center 8th Annual Scientific Research Retreat will be held on Friday, December 5, 2008 at the Omar Shrine Temple in Mt. Pleasant, SC. The retreat is planned for members of the Hollings Cancer Center Research Programs, Hollings Cancer Center members, MUSC faculty, and graduate and postdoctoral students interested in cancer research. Information on registration and abstract submission will be posted in the early fall.
