Every year, Hollings Cancer Center receives inquiries from generous individuals, community groups, organizations and companies about hosting events to support our cancer research, treatment and prevention programs. We are grateful to have your help and are happy to help you through the event planning process.

Getting Started: Before the planning begins, please submit an Event Proposal Form (PDF). Please allow two weeks for us to review and approve your application.

One-in-Three Afternoon Tea -
Linda Floyd Forum on Women’s Cancers

2nd Annual Just Ducky Race on Shem Creek

When: May 8, 2016

Time: 12:30-1pm

Where: Shem Creek at Tavern & Table and Red's Ice House

Spring has sprung! That means celebrating some of the best women we know: our Moms. Mother's Day is just around the corner, and to celebrate we're taking part in the Just Ducky Race. The ducks are only $50 this year, and all proceeds go towards Women's Cancer Research. It's the perfect gift for the Mom in your family and the perfect way to spend your Mother's Day. "Duckerate" your duck for a chance to win your $50 entry fee back! Even better, the winning duck owner receives a $250 Red's Icehouse gift card and a $300 Tavern & Table gift card. It's the perfect Mother's Day on Shem Creek, so come spend it with us and support Women's Cancer Research.

Swing For A Cure Golf- Branch-Crawford Memorial Kick-off Party & Tournament*

When: July 8 & 9, 2016

Where: Harborside East, Mt. Pleasant (July 8th from 6-10pm)

Travis Branch passed away in June 2010 after a four year battle with hemangiopericytoma, a very rare form of sarcoma cancer. In January of 2015, an aggressive form of osteosarcoma claimed another life, Eric Crawford, after a nine month fight. In an effort to continue our mission to find better treatment options and ultimately a cure for sarcoma cancers, the proceeds from both of these events will benefit sarcoma cancer research and clinical trials at the Medical University of South Carolina’s Hollings Cancer Center’s Comprehensive Sarcoma Cancer Program. Swing for a Cure has raised over $200,000 in support of this program! Sign up today!

Mike Strantz Memorial Golf Tournament*

When: August 6, 2016

Where: Tot Hill Farm Golf Course, Asheboro, NC

This annual tournament is held in memory of Mike Strantz, an award-winning golf course designer. This year’s tournament features a four-person Texas Tee Best Ball Tournament to support a state-of-the-art research laboratory at the Hollings Cancer Center.

LoCo Motion – 3-Day Breast Cancer Event 

When: September 22 - September 25, 2016 

Where: Coligny Beach area, Hilton Head, SC 

LoCo Motion is the signature fundraising event for Carolina Cups, a 501c(3) non-profit public charity dedicated to funding breast cancer education, screening, treatment, and clinical research. Thursday night is a packet pick-up party with food and music. Then participants will walk or run 10 miles per day on a breathtaking three island tour, showcasing the most revered and scenic treasures of the Lowcountry. Daily after-parties, bling, and sundrenched beaches await you at the finish lines! LoCo Motion has committed to a $150,000 fundraising goal for 2016 and Hollings Cancer Center is a beneficiary. 36th Annual Taste of Charleston*

When: September 23-25, 2016

Where: Boone Hall Plantation, Mt. Pleasant, SC

The Southern Living Taste of Charleston, hosted by the Greater Charleston Restaurant Association, Inc (GCRA) is a 3-day event showcasing taste-tempting delights served by Charleston restaurants. GCRA generously donates a portion of the proceeds to Hollings Cancer Center. Please click here for more information.

The Point - 9th Annual Camp for a Cause*

When: October 1, 2016

Where: 2000 Heron Island Way, Wadmalaw Island, SC

Together we will fight breast cancer, enjoy the outdoors, share laughs, win prizes, listen to survivor stories, & part better friends than we were yesterday. The 9th Annual Jerry Zucker Ride for Hope*

When: October 9, 2016

Time: 9am

Where: All rides depart from Awendaw Green, Awendaw, SC

Grab your bike and join the Jerry Zucker Ride for Hope as they raise money for cancer research. Riders can choose from a 10 mile, 30 mile or 100K ride route. This event supports Hollings Cancer Center and other local cancer charities. Please click here for more information.

Racquets for Recovery*

When: November 5, 2016

Where: Pine Forest Country Club, Summerville, SC

Racquets for Recovery is one of South Carolina’s award-winning tennis tournaments. It is a weekend full of great tennis, delicious food and fabulous prizes. You don’t want to miss it! All proceeds are donated to Hollings Cancer Center to support our breast cancer patients.

Join the Hollings Cancer Center’s Thoracic Oncology Team for the annual Lung Cancer Awareness Month reception as we honor survivors, caregivers and patients.

34th Annual Lowcountry Oyster Festival*

When: January 29, 2017

Time: 10am - 5pm

Where: Boone Hall Plantation, Mt. Pleasant, SC

The Lowcountry Oyster Festival is the world’s largest oyster festival and has been named one of the “top 20 events in the southeast” by Southeastern Tourism Society. Highlights include the legendary “Oyster Shucking” and “Oyster Eating” Contests, live music on the main stage, wine, a selection of domestic and imported beers, a Children’s Area and a “Food Court” showcasing a variety of local favorite restaurants to satisfy everyone’s taste. Gates open at 10:00 am and ends at 5:00 pm. Rain or shine event. No pets or coolers, please. Children ten and under free with paying adult. A portion of the proceeds benefit HCC. A women’s golf tournament hosted by the Long Cove Golf Club- Ladies Golf Club benefiting Hollings Cancer Center’s Comprehensive Breast Cancer Program.

9th Annual Tommy Cuthbert Charity Classic*

When: July 24, 2015

Where: Kiawah Island, Cougar Point

10:00am shotgun at Cougar Point, with awards, luncheon and prizes following play. The cost will be $125 per player.
