  • Summer placements are limited and subject to the 100-hour annual requirement. Students interested in volunteering during summer must be certain of their ability to follow through on their commitment and must submit their application by April 1.

Please note that our program does not provide the opportunity to shadow physicians, nurses or other health care providers, nor do we allow volunteers to perform any sort of medical procedures. Also, due to the volume of applications we receive and the specific requirements of the programs we offer, we are not be able to place every applicant.

We provide all of our volunteers training and ongoing support. New volunteers are required to attend a Hollings Cancer Center orientation, which highlights the special needs of cancer patients and their families. In addition to your overall orientation, you will receive orientation and training in your particular area of service.

The VOLUNTEER OFFICE is located at 165 Ashley Avenue, Room 101 Children's Hospital.
