- Named for former US Senator Ernest “Fritz” Hollings, HCC was founded in 1993 on the campus of the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) in Charleston, SC
- Nearly 2,000 patients were diagnosed with cancer last year at HCC
- HCC has about 80,000 patient-visits a year
- More than 170 MUSC faculty—clinicians and researchers—lead the patient care and translation of research at HCC
- HCC has more than 202,000 gross square feet dedicated to patient care and research
- HCC houses multidisciplinary clinics that involve surgeons, medical oncologists, radiation therapists, radiologists, pathologists, psychologists, and many other specialists
- HCC has a Mobile Health Unit that travels weekly throughout 12 Lowcountry counties offering free and low-cost screenings to underserved populations
- HCC has a statewide Clinical Trials Network that offers the latest therapies to patients that otherwise might not have access to them. Everyone in the state has access to the Clinical Trials Network
