Cancer Disparities Program
African Americans make up 30 percent of South Carolina’s population but their cancer rate is nearly twice that of Caucasians - and they are more likely die from the disease.  The Hollings Cancer Center created a Cancer Disparities Program to bring critical resources to those who need them most, and to advocate for policies and services that focus on the disproportionate health burden facing our state’s minority population.

Breast Health Patient Navigation Program
The Avon Foundation has joined forces with Hollings Cancer Center in a new Navigation Program, focusing on state-of-the-art breast cancer care for medically underserved women in the Lowcountry.

High Risk Breast Cancer Initiative
Wachovia has joined forces with Hollings Cancer Center in a five year program designed to identify women who are at high risk for breast cancer.

Garden Party Program: Community Breast Cancer Awareness and Education
The Garden Party Program provides breast cancer information to women in a community garden setting, with the purpose of raising awareness and early detection.

Mobile Health Unit
The Hollings Cancer Center Mobile Health Unit provides cancer screening, prevention education, early detection and health maintenance counseling to adults living in target areas of South Carolina.
