One of the best ways patients can meet the challenges of a cancer diagnosis is to become active participants in their care. Patients and loved ones can do this by learning about their type of cancer so they know what to anticipate during treatment and recovery.
The Hollings Cancer Center’s Patient/Family Resource Center is dedicated to helping patients and loved ones empower themselves with information that can help them understand the disease better and communicate effectively with their health care team. The center is staffed on weekdays with a librarian who can give visitors the latest information about cancer – as well as helping with internet searches so patients can find credible sources of information online. All services provided by the center are free and available to cancer patients and survivors in the community. Please stop in or call anytime.
