The Avon Foundation has joined forces with Hollings Cancer Center in a new navigation program focusing on state-of-the-art breast cancer care for underserved women in the Low Country. The program is dedicated to address the unmet needs of underserved women who are at risk for and/or have been diagnosed with breast cancer. Linked to the HCC Mobile Health Unit and breast cancer clinics, the program follows women from screening, through diagnostic testing and the diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer. The program ensures access to breast health services and information, improves the health care experience and supports timely delivery for early detection and treatment of breast cancer. Also, it provides the infrastructure necessary to bridge the gap to appropriate outreach services available to the underserved population. For more information, contact the HCC outreach program at (843) 792-0878.
