The Dragonboat Program Going Strong in New Home There is an emerging body of research suggesting that physical activity has a positive effect on quality of life following a cancer diagnosis and into survivorship. With this in mind, Hollings Cancer Center in 2005 founded Dragon Boat Charleston, a unique program for cancer survivors that brought a 2,000-year-old sport to South Carolina. The program captured the hearts and minds of many and found much success. Dragon Boat Charleston now operates independently of Hollings but remains available to our patients.
