Comprehensive Breast Care

The statistics are daunting: one in seven South Carolina women will have breast cancer in her lifetime.  However, with recent advances in breast cancer care, most women have every reason to be hopeful.

During the past 15 years, the Hollings Cancer Center’s (HCC) Comprehensive Breast Care program has screened, diagnosed and treated more than 100,000 women with breast care issues.

 Breast Cancer Clinical Trials
Recognizing that most treatment standards of today were developed as a result of previous clinical trials, it is evident that clinical trials play a critical role in the advancement of new treatments.

Clinical trials are research studies in which people help doctors find ways to improve health and cancer care. Each study tries to answer scientific questions and to find better ways to prevent, diagnose, or treat cancer.
