Our Services and Technology

At the Hollings Cancer Center, our Gynecological Cancer program encompasses all aspects of diagnosis, surgery, treatment and management of:

 Cervical cancer

Endometrial cancer

Ovarian cancer
 Vulvar cancer

One of our most exciting new treatments, currently in clinical trials, is the use of biologicals to contain gynecological cancers.  These medications, such as Avastin, are delivered intravenously and work to cut off the tumor’s blood supply, effectively removing the nutrients necessary for the cancer to grow.

In addition to our state-of-the-art diagnostic equipment and treatment facilities, the Hollings Cancer Center MUSC Hospital is in the process of introducing robotics into the surgical management of gynecological cancers.  The use of a surgeon-directed robotic arm connected to a laparoscope results in more precise surgery, reduces the level of invasiveness and decreases recovery time.
