Head and Neck Cancer

South Carolina has one of the nation's highest death rates for cancers of the head and neck. However, the Hollings Cancer Center (HCC) is working to change that statistic through the state's most comprehensive Head and Neck Tumor program. The Head and Neck Tumor program offers patients hope for survival - and a return to a normal life.

Head and Neck Clinical Trials
Recognizing that most treatment standards of today were developed as a result of previous clinical trials, it is evident that clinical trials play a critical role in the advancement of new treatments.

Clinical trials are research studies in which people help doctors find ways to improve health and cancer care. Each study tries to answer scientific questions and to find better ways to prevent, diagnose, or treat cancer. Read more about clinical trials.
