All cancer research studies involving diagnosis, treatment, prevention and control that have not received traditional peer review for scientific merit must be submitted to the Protocol Review Committee (PRC) for review and approval. The MUSC Institutional Review Board (IRB) requires the PRC approval letter to accompany the initial submission therefore PRC review must occur before a study can be submitted to the IRB.
