Description:
The Clinical Trials Office (CTO) of Hollings Cancer Center (HCC) provides
Support services for investigators conducting clinical studies at HCC.  Comprised of 20+ staff, each work together in supporting the various disease sites in which they are assigned.  Additionally, the CTO serves as a liaison to the Protocol Review and Monitoring System, Institutional Review Board, and various other Committees and Centers working to support clinical trial activities.  HCC is a member of the following NIH cooperative groups: American College of Radiology Imaging Network (ACRIN), American College of Surgeons Oncology Group (ACOSOG), Children’s Oncology Group (COG), Gynecologic Oncology Group (GOG), National Surgical Adjuvant Breast and Bowel Project (NSABP), Radiation Therapy Oncology Group (RTOG), & Southwest Oncology Group (SWOG).  In addition to cooperative group clinical trials, HCC is also active in industry trials as well as our own internally developed investigator-initiated trials.

  • Trials information and referral services for physicians and patients
  • Coordinated assignment of clinical research personnel
  • Financial management and contract negotiation
  • Protocol and case report form development for investigator-initiated trials
  • Regulatory services to include:  consent development, document collection and IRB submission along with general study support to ensure compliance throughout the duration of the study
  • Liaison with Hollings Cancer Center Protocol Review and Monitoring System
  • Patient enrollment, coordination of study-related patient care and documentation of all study related information
  • Patient follow up and data management
  • Ongoing quality assurance audits and preparation for routine cooperative group audits
