Description:
The aim of the Proteomics Core is to provide expertise, facilities, and services to facilitate application of proteomic analysis approaches to cancer research.

Services:
The Cancer Proteomics Core offers mass spectrometry services and identification of proteins separated by gel electrophoresis. Services include automated in-gel digestion, MALDI-TOF-TOF analysis of the resulting fragment peptides, and data interpretation using Mascot® software.

The Cancer Proteomics Core also offers a wide range of gel proteomics services including:

  1. 1 dimensional (1D) and 2-dimensional (2D) gel electrophoresis (PAGE and IPG/PAGE)
  2. 1D Isoelectric focusing
  3. Differential Gel Electrophoresis (DIGE)
  4. Native/ Blue Native Gels
  5. 2D Blue Native/PAGE
  6. 2D BN non-reducing/Native Reducing gels
  7. 2D westerns
  8. Detection of Phosphorylated and Glycated proteins

Equipment:
The mass spectrometry facility major equipment includes:
- Applied Biosystems 4700 Proteomics Analyzer [time of flight (TOF)-TOF tandem MS]
